  • Lưu ý lỗi phổ biến của học sinh Việt Nam là phát âm cả âm 'b' trong từ 'doubt' (đọc thành 'đao-b-t'), cần nhấn mạnh đây là âm câm.

Etymology

From Old French 'douter', from Latin 'dubitare' (to waver, hesitate, be in two minds), related to 'dubius' (uncertain). The 'b' was restored in the 14th–16th centuries to match its Latin origin. Source: Oxford Dictionary of English Etymology.
