Use 'at' for events or locations.

  • The host invited his guests to the dinner.

Unless you own the hotel, 'at the hotel' is the correct prepositional phrase.

  • We have much guests today.

'Guest' is a countable noun, so use 'many' instead of 'much'.

  • She made a guest on the show.

She was a guest on the show. / She guested on the show.

You 'are' a guest or you 'guest' (verb); you do not 'make' a guest.

Don't confuse with

  • host

The person who receives or entertains the guest.

“The host greeted us at the door.”

Think of the 'host' as the provider and the 'guest' as the receiver.

  • visitor

Anyone who visits a place, not necessarily by invitation.

“The museum has thousands of visitors every day.”

A 'guest' is usually invited or paying for hospitality; a 'visitor' is more general.
